In session one, How the Brain functions to Unite Us or Divide Us, you will learn of the brain’s role in interpreting “unexpected experiences” as well as “challenging interpersonal interactions”. A common expression between people is “You triggered me!”. Join us for session one to understand what it means to be “triggered”, why we get “triggered” and how to decrease and eliminate anger’s damaging effects.

About: Dennis Paryaski is a retired police detective from the Southfield Police Department where he served for 24 years (1988-2012). Dennis joined the Oakland Hills Counseling team July 2014. Previously, Dennis worked as a psychologist for Starr/PsychSytems from 2012 through 2014 where he provided psychological services for Oakland, Wayne and Macomb County Community Mental Health consumers as well as treating clients at the outpatient clinic for depression, anxiety and behavioral issues. Dennis also served as a faculty assistant at Moody Theological Seminary of Michigan in the psychology department. While at Moody, Dennis treated clients at Inter Sessions, the psychological services clinic on the campus of Moody. After retiring from the police department, Dennis continued utilizing his analytical skills as a Special Investigator for GEICO Insurance conducting complex investigations into fraudulent insurance claims (2013-2015).
