Dennis holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Wayne State University and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Moody Theological Seminary. He has been a Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP) since 2012. *A Limited Licensed Psychologist may practice under the supervision of a Fully Licensed Psychologist.

Professional Experience

Dennis Paryaski is a retired police detective from the Southfield Police Department where he served for 24 years (1988-2012). Dennis joined the Oakland Hills Counseling team July 2014. Previously, Dennis worked as a psychologist for Starr/PsychSytems from 2012 through 2014 where he provided psychological services for Oakland, Wayne and Macomb County Community Mental Health consumers as well as treating clients at the outpatient clinic for depression, anxiety and behavioral issues. Dennis also served as a faculty assistant at Moody Theological Seminary of Michigan in the psychology department. While at Moody, Dennis treated clients at Inter Sessions, the psychological services clinic on the campus of Moody. After retiring from the police department, Dennis continued utilizing his analytical skills as a Special Investigator for GEICO Insurance conducting complex investigations into fraudulent insurance claims (2013-2015).

Personal Information

Dennis is married and has seven children. In his free time, Dennis manages and coaches a travel baseball team, and he enjoys exercise, camping, family time, and helping others succeed. He also enjoys reading about theology, philosophy, psychology and biographies of individuals who have lived courageously amid overwhelming circumstances. Dennis is passionate about helping adolescent males develop healthy and productive identities and resolve troubling circumstances related to poor decision-making. Additionally, he is passionate about working with married couples and helping families with parenting and child behavioral issues. Dennis also works with men, helping them enter into the chaos of life (relationships) with purpose and productive movement.
